Mr Simon R. Andrews: Managing Director

An entrepreneur with a wealth of experience gained in the construction and haulage industries, Simon is passionate about renewable energy particularly Solar, Wind and Biomass. He is dedicated to applying market-based mechanisms to tackle the joint challenges of climate change and sustainable global development.

"Climate warming is real and the evidence is patent that key tipping points have been reached. It is the greatest threat facing humanity and needs to be tackled urgently. We, at TTIB are privileged to be part of the solution and our philosophy for carbon reduction is to: learn, avoid, reduce and offset.  The Trend is Blue shall implement policies to:

1. Educate the public and corporate entities by producing helpful guides (simple tips) and scientific papers to be made available free of cost.

2. Create as many “green jobs” during this period of unprecedented global turmoil. We aim to provide internships for young people passionate about the environment."

Venugopal Tatikunta BEng MSc: Chief Environmental Analyst

An engineer with an MSc in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies at the University of East London and BEng Civil Engineering. Winner of the national award "Best project of the year in Civil Engineering and Architecture, 2006" from GOI.

Venugopal provides expertise in building regulations and the architectural sector, including sustainability, carbon markets and renewable technologies. He has worked with large multinational companies, such as Hilson Moran Partnership, as a sustainability consultant, developing carbon reduction strategies for high rise buildings such as 20 Fenchurch Street, Swiss Re Building, Wembley Stadium and the Pinnacle Tower . He has special interest in promoting sustainable technologies and finance in developing countries.

“Extreme water shortages, flooding, droughts and heat waves, scientifically proven to be directly related to climate change, affect real lives. Having experienced climate change first hand in India I believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to reduce their carbon footprint. My role as Chief Environmental Analyst at The Trend is Blue is to provide solutions to avoid climate change and contribute to making our future beautiful.”

Ewa Wegiel MA, MSc: Environmental Analyst (Freelance Consultant)

Ewa has an MA in archaeology from University of Wroclaw, Poland. She took part in several archaeological excavations where she utilized her knowledge in excavation techniques, data and artefacts interpretation and analysis of sites from the Palaeolithic to medieval periods.

She gained her office administration skills while working for The Churches Conservation Trust, a charitable trust looking after historic churches at risk.

She turned her attention to the environmental sector while attending seminars on Climate Change at Birkbeck College during her Bioarchaeology studies. The seminars were so inspiring that she decided to focus her career on current environmental issues linked to climate change and sustainability. She obtained her MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London and specialised in Environmental Analysis and Assessment of current environmental problems linked to climate change, pollution and contaminated land. Her research interest includes climate change and sustainability, energy and carbon policy, environmental policy / management and waste management.

She has voluntary experience with the following: Green Alliance, Rising Tide, London Coalition Against Poverty.

Jillian Watt BSc MSc: Senior Environmental Analyst (Freelance Consultant)

An environmental researcher with a decade of experience studying and working within the sustainability and carbon sector. Jillian has experience of working on energy, waste and recycling and transport projects. Her experience comes from previous placements at Sainsbury's, Environmental Investment Organisation, Sustainable Energy Action, Southwark Council and Green Element.

In addition, she has achieved a merit for an MSc in Monitoring, Modelling and Management of Environmental Change from Kings College London as well as a BSc in Biology from Leeds. She is currently completing, part time, a PhD at UCL within Remote Sensing.

Conor Molphy BA Hons MSc: Chief Environmental Analyst (Freelance Consultant)

Conor Molphy brings diverse and extensive experience of the sustainability field to The Trend Is Blue. He joins us from Tricor Ltd, an innovative company working across the entire carbon credit value chain, where he was European Business Manager. He has also worked with GVA Grimley and the Carbon Trust, and through his career has provided tailored carbon strategy advice to high profile public and private sector organisations. These experiences across the sustainability field have built extensive knowledge in areas including corporate sustainability reporting, carbon management and carbon offsetting.

In addition to strong professional experience, Conor brings an excellent academic background, having gained first an Undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from Trinity College Dublin, and later a Master's degree in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh.

Ritu Kesarwani (Our lady in Chicago) BE MS: Senior Environmental Analyst (Freelance Consultant)

An accomplished chemical engineer with over 12 years of international and domestic experience in clean fuels and green technologies. Her focus is on waste water treatment and recycling, waste reduction and management and sustainability practices.

Ritu obtained her MS in Chemical Engineering at IIT in Bombay, and began her working career in 1998 as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Chemical Engineering at an engineering college in Raipur. She went on to become the Deputy Manager of the Technology Department in Enhanced WAPP systems at a waste water management company in New Delhi.

Following her work in India, Ritu relocated to Chicago and took the position of Chemical Process Engineer at Unitel Technologies, a consulting company working in biofuel. Still based in the United States, she is currently an independent consultant whose clients include: Gerson Lehrman Group and Zintro.

Ritu is passionate about the conservation of natural resources and waste management after studying piles of waste and the amount of waste water generated. As an engineer, she started working on different low cost solutions for natural resource management and has experienced that recycling is more cost effective in comparison to disposal.

She quotes “I believe we should save natural resources and the environment for our grand-children in a similar way as we save our own assets for their safe and secure future”.

Sriker Ambati MSc MBA: Software Programmer

Sriker has an MBA in Human Resource Management and an MSc in Computer Science, he feels green IT plays a major role in today’s environment as businesses face rising energy bills and growing client awareness about climate change.

 

Sinosphere - China

Alicia K.Ng

Alicia has studied and lived on over three continents, receiving an MSc in International Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies and BA in Asian Studies from Whitman College. An unlikely start for a sustainability career, her interest in the environment grew from experiences between these two degrees. She believes in a multi-pronged approach to fighting climate change and believes in the work of The Trend is Blue towards engaging individuals and business. Alicia is originally from the United States, speaks Mandarin and has experience of working on renewable energy, carbon markets and greenbuild projects with environmental think-tank Green Alliance and news and research provider Climate Connect. She is also a keen cyclist and works as a part-time bicycle mechanic for community projects.

Indosphere - India

Mr Praveen Chandra BEng (IIT Kanpur)

Praveen has four and a half years in the field of Clean Development Mechanism. With a strong technical background he has developed his career working across various projects which include wind, biomass, natural gas and methane recovery. He has registered a natural gas based co-generation project for Sintex Industries which was the first of its kind in the world.

Mr Praneeth Reddy CA

Praneeth is a chartered accountant by profession and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He has a keen interest in carbon reducing technologies and believes that offsetting forms a key part of the solution.
